Williams has yet to appear in the <a href=\"https:\/\/locator.ice.gov\/odls\/#\/search\">federal ICE detainee locator<\/a>, which reflects an \u201cimperfect system,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bennington Banner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benningtonbanner.com\/local-news\/williams-transferred-to-michigan-ice-facility-stay-of-deportation-granted\/article_42230b73-a509-4b98-bbd0-dde686f42a26.html\">first reported<\/a> Williams\u2019 move to the Michigan facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the morning of Aug. 25, Williams was pulled over by ICE officials in unmarked cars, who were carrying out a prior order to have Williams deported, which was issued in 2013, Worth said. Williams was given time to call a family member to pick up her 18 month old son who was with her at the time of the arrest before she was transported to Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington, he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While she remains in Michigan, Williams\u2019 case is being litigated in the Boston Immigration Court. Since taking on the case last Thursday, Worth said filed an emergency stay so she could remain in the country. After a judge granted the motion, Worth said his next step is to argue against the 2013 order with the goal of having it dropped.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worth said he did not file a petition to prevent her from being transferred out of state because the most \u201cpressing issue\u201d in a short time frame was to block deportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Davona is staying strong in the face of a challenging legal system that is stacked against her,\u201d Worth said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rutland Area NAACP President Mia Schultz said it was scary to learn early Tuesday morning that Williams had disappeared from the system, and that ICE detention has been tough on Williams and her family. But Schultz said the local community has rallied around the family by starting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/stand-with-manchester-children-in-crisis\">GoFundMe campaign<\/a> to help her family pay bills during the immigration proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe is beloved by her community,\u201d Schultz said. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to ensure the things she built here stay
